I am a huge fan of the use of colour in home design and as such a fan of Friedensreich Regentag Dunkelbunt Hundertwasser (that’s not even his full name!). He was an Austrian visual artist and architect. I visited the famous Hundertwasser Toilets in New Zealand. As a natural world designer, builder and teacher I am drawn to his use of colour and material and the curvilinear presence in his structures. Like myself, he believed that buildings can and should be inspired by the beauty, coulour and shapes of our natural world. A world where there are no 90 degree corners or straight lines.
He was rejecting the brutal angles of the buildings he grew up around and as a result he has inspired many.
