Every castle needs a good floor. Natural, warm, comfortable and beautiful. We always advise against basements for too many reasons to list in a short missive. You need something that will hold up to daily life of a family of real bears for centuries, not decades. Concrete, earthen, wood, tile or stone are usually the best; and there are a multitude of applications in each system.
I like my floor to be able to withstand overflowing sinks, tubs and floods; the ever present tracked in stuff of life and scurrying feet of visitors coming and going.
