Our client contacted us to do three features on their amazing home. A kitchen feature wall, a master bedroom deck feature wall and a fireplace surround. The kitchen wall was to capture the seashore, the ocean and the mountains beyond. We had the added challenge of not being able to anchor to a concrete floor with in floor heating lines; which meant octopus bracing to the stud nearest wall. We also needed to custom fabricate a steel plate for backing support over the hearth. And we had to cut our hand rammers down to 18 inches and top them with foam so as not to damage the finished wood roof.
